If you have been scanning old photos to archive or to make a life story video slide show, you have most likely come across some issues with photo quality. (See Five tips to get better scanning results ) My photos from the 1970s that spent a few decades in magnetic albums have an orange or pink cast to them. Photos from the 1940s are crinkled and scratched. The black and whites from the 1950s are faded or washed out.
The time that it takes you to edit your scans can be well spent. Just remember that when you are making a video slide show, your purpose is to tell the story and not to restore every image to perfection.
